How does the word counter work?
Simply type or paste your text into the editor above. Every statistic — words, characters, sentences, paragraphs, reading time and keyword density — updates instantly as you type. Nothing is sent to a server: all counting happens locally in your browser.
How are Chinese characters counted?
For Chinese text, each Chinese character is counted as one word, which matches the common convention for Chinese word counts. English words mixed into the text are counted separately by whitespace, so mixed-language documents are handled correctly.
What is keyword density and why does it matter?
Keyword density is the percentage of times a keyword appears relative to the total number of words. A natural density (usually 1–3%) helps search engines understand your topic, while overly high density ("keyword stuffing") can hurt your rankings.
